Case Study March 2021
April 5, 2021
PROBLEM STATEMENT
The client was having file synchronization issues with OneDrive. No one was able to share files and no users were domain controlled.
CURRENT MODE OF OPERATION
- OneDrive was configured that the owner of the folder had to be signed in on specific user’s PC to view company files.
IMPLEMENTATION PLAN:
We installed a 4TB Dell server with 64 gigabytes of RAM, and RAID 5. For a local and cloud backup, we used Datto. We domain-controlled every PC and made each employee create their own password. Once all users were on the domain, we moved files into the correct folder shares and migrated data off of OneDrive and onto the Dell server. We demonstrated how to use the new server with the mapped drives. In addition, we provided users with VPN access for printing and remote access. We also disabled the use of OneDrive in the office.
